Join us for Young Hoosier Book Club for grades 3-5! Every month, we will meet and discuss one of the Young Hoosier Intermediate Nominated books. Each month we will rate the book on a scale of 1-5. In April, our ratings will be submitted to the Young Hoosier Book Award Committee.
This month, we will be reading "Duel" by Jessixa Bagley. Fencing sisters, Gigi and Lucy are now in the same school and feel compelled to compete against each other. After a teasing incident, Lucy challenges Gigi to a fencing match. As the clock ticks down to the girls’ fencing bout, the anticipation grows. Their school is divided into GiGi and Lucy factions, complete with t-shirts declaring kids’ allegiances. Both sisters are determined to triumph. But will winning the duel mean fracturing their family even further?
