Does poor sleep keep you up at night?  Can this be the result of a sleeping disorder?  Did you know a sleeping disorder can seriously affect your brain function, your emotional and physical health, and your relationships?

In this program Dr. Anokwute will educate us on the many factors that can contribute to inadequate sleep such as insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs, food intake, medications, light exposure, stress, anxiety, bed wetting and much more. The problem may go deeper than you think and medications are not always the solution.

Dr. Akudo Anokwute is a triple board-certified physician – Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center-One Brooklyn Health, Brooklyn, New York and went on to pursue Fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her practice is primarily focused on caring for patients with sleep related disorders including insomnia, snoring, sleep apnea (OSA), restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, dream enactment behaviors, shift worker disorder, circadian rhythm disorders, and many more. She has co-authored articles in different journals including the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
