Event Details

Get ready for kindergarten with the library! Transitioning from PreK to K can be more than just learning ABCs & 123s. Building confidence, cognitive flexibility, and self-awareness are also essential pieces to the puzzle of a well-rounded learning foundation. Our Get Ready 4 Kindergarten series is open to children ages 4-5 and designed to give your child a "sneak peek" at a school experience in the welcoming environment of the library. Registration is required.

Each session we read a book & pair it with a hands-on craft to bring the story to life as well as practice targeted developmental skills. Storybooks allow us as caregivers to bridge bigger ideas with our children, like honoring what makes us unique, taking care of our community, and learning what being a leader looks like. Alongside broadening our learning horizons, skills we practice might look like using scissors to cut simple shapes, using glue bottles to strengthen hand grip, and holding our crayons with thumbs & fingers to sign our names on our beautiful projects!

Sessions run once a month, every 2nd Thursday at 10:00am!

*Please sign-up ONE child per registration and include the name of the adult who will be accompanying the registered child in the "Special Notes" field.*

*Children are encouraged to attend this program independently. We ask that accompanying adults plan to wait in the library until the program is dismissed.*

Please note – five minutes after the program start time, registered but unfilled seats may be given to waitlisted or walk-in participants.
