Event Details
If you're interested in creating your own hive or just want to know more about honey bees, then this is the program for you. Join local beekeeper Terry Planke in a conversation on why honey bees are vital to our ecosystem in part I of this program. Part II (December 13th) will be an in-depth session on how to make, sustain and enjoy your own honey bee hive.
This program will be divided into two sessions. The first will cover:
- The history of honey bees and their importance,
- Their fundamental requirements and items needed for survival,
- Best places to place a hive and how to handle them,
- Legal barriers and other issues that might arise,
- Additional general information
- Plenty of Q&A time throughout the session
Registration required. Walk-ins welcome (if space allows).
NOTE: It is recommended to attend both sessions to gain the proper knowledge needed to maintain a sustaining honey bee hive.
