In this is 9 week workshop series designed for older adults (50+ years) you will learn realistic painting and drawing while socializing and building an inclusive community.

You must be able to commit to attend all 9 workshops (2 hours/session).  The series will end with an exhibition on the 10th session.

Class structure:  June and July session will meet from 1-3pm.  August sessions will meet from 5:30-7:30pm.

June 6: Intro to Drawing - Explore various lines and share your unique cultural background.

June 13: Grid Method Part 1 - Learn the grid method, transfer contour lines and share your projects.

June 20: Draw your object reflecting your culture using the grid method and share it’s significance. Shade your object emphasizing key value levels

June 27: Intro to color theory begin coloring in one one of your canvases using paint.

July 11: Class Recap

Aug 8: Drawing and shading an object from observation.

Aug 15: Draw your object reflecting another culture using the grid method and share it’s significance. Shade your object emphasizing key value levels.

Aug 22: Finish drawing your contour lines and bring your completed drawing for next session.Finish shading your object.

Aug 29: Adding Color to your Work - Add color to your artwork using oil pastel or acrylic paint.

Sept 5: Culture and Canvas Exhibition - Share your artwork with the Brownsburg community in a public art exhibit.
